Bridge Repair to Affect Traffic Near Campus
Families visiting W&L for the 2022 Parents and Family Weekend or for other occasions in the months ahead should be aware of a bridge repair project that will affect vehicle and pedestrian traffic near campus. The City of Lexington will begin repair work on the W. Nelson St./US 60W bridge over Woods Creek on Sept. 26. The work, which is expected to take approximately six months to complete, will require the vehicular bridge to be reduced to one lane, with a temporary stop light to manage traffic. Please be aware of the possibility of increased traffic on Denny Circle, and potential traffic backups on W. Nelson St./US 60W, near Gaines Hall and Wilson Hall/Lenfest Center, and between the bridge and West Denny Circle, near the entrance to the Liberty Hall Ruins and W&L's athletic fields. Read more about this project.
