Wildflower Walk with Artist Emma Steinkraus
11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Brushy Hills Nature Preserve
Learn to identify local flora and fauna and celebrate Rockbridge County in bloom with artist Emma Steinkraus. Participants will meet at the trailhead for Brushy Hills Nature Preserve. Wear comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots, and sun protection is recommended. This event is free, open to all and is appropriate for all ages and fitness levels.

Fentanyl & Nicotine: Know the Risks
Noon-1 p.m., Harte Center Gallery, Leyburn 128
Join the Office of Human Resources for an important and informative session on the dangers of fentanyl and nicotine — two highly addictive substances increasingly targeting young adults. Charity Smith, prevention services educator at Rockridge Area Community Services will discuss the deadly threat of fentanyl, the growing trend of nicotine addiction among young adults, the physical, mental and societal impacts of these substances, and strategies for prevention and access to local resources. Lunch will be provided.
