Dear parents and families, |
It is hard to believe that the Fall Term is in full swing! Colder weather and falling leaves are making their appearance, and our students at W&L are keeping busy with classes and extracurricular activities. We look forward to welcoming you all back to campus for Parents and Family Weekend Oct. 24-26, and we hope you will consider stopping by the Student Engagement and Leadership (SEaL) Reception on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. Make sure to check out the registration link below, as well as read some tips and tricks from the Division of Student Affairs on how your student(s) can get involved and/or find their communities here at W&L! Finally, if you are a first-year parent/family member, we hope you will consider completing a brief survey to share your feedback about move-in day. The survey can be accessed by clicking here. As always, if you have questions, concerns or feedback, I can be reached by email at families@wlu.edu. |

If your student is looking for ways to get involved, the Division of Student Affairs has a few tips/tricks to offer: |
- Recommend your student visit the SEaL Team on the second floor of Elrod Commons! Any one of the team members can help them learn about potential ways to get involved or find extracurriculars that fuel their interests and passions.
- Encourage your student to talk with their Resident Advisor (RA) or Community Assistant (CA), their Peer Connector (PC) or their Leading Edge trip leader. These students are great resources for your student and can help point them in the right direction.
- Ask them what W&L social media channels they are plugged into – these are also a good source of information about different extracurricular opportunities! All of our social media accounts can be viewed here.

Washington and Lee Athletics |
|
Several Washington and Lee Athletics programs are off to fast starts to begin the 2025-26 season, with volleyball leading the way with a 10-0 overall record. Women's soccer has opened 4-2 overall despite a tough schedule, while women's golf placed eighth at the NCAA Preview to open their season. |
Men's cross country has placed seventh and third at its first two races but was the top-finishing Division III team at both. Women's cross country won at Bridgewater and trailed only Division I Radford and Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, and women's tennis got underway in a competitive field at the CNU Invite. |
Men's golf tees off for the first time this week, with field hockey, men's soccer and football all heading toward the end of their non-conference schedules. |
