Singing crickets and the sustaining power of spring in Virginia: poets have a way of capturing the complicated, vitalizing energy of the season. Such energy has pulsed through this busy week filled with preparations for ends and beginnings. FACULTY SPOTLIGHT

Genelle Gertz, Professor of English

Professor Genelle Gertz has been appointed the inaugural Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives. In this role, Genelle will develop core initiatives to strengthen the arts and humanities. She will collaborate with faculty in College departments and programs as well as with colleagues in Career and Professional Development. Genelle will begin serving in this part-time, one-year appointment on July 1st.
