February 2024

A Note from the Dean
Dear Colleagues,
I hope you are doing fine on this most solemn of rodent-based holidays, Groundhog Day! The seasonal predictions from varied sources across the continent (including Lucy the Lobster in Nova Scotia) are...mixed. Don't start putting your sweaters away.
Winter term sneaks up on me, with a faster pace of you submitting FARs, other reports, and Lenfest summer grant applications for me to read and assess, and with the new momentum of tenure and promotion cases moving to the next stage. All of this reading is a joy for me. I love to learn about your new and continued pursuits in teaching, scholarship, and academic citizenship. You are a continuous source of inspiration. And I am grateful to get to be your colleague at W&L.
Best wishes,

Thank you Stephanie for an unforgettable talk!
The 2023 Nobel Prize in Literature was awarded to Jon Fosse "for his innovative plays and prose which give voice to the unsayable." Assistant Professor of Theater, Stephanie Sandberg presented a fine lecture which included a scene from I Am the Wind, performed by community actors Samuel Camp and Michael Blouin.
Bravo!
