Chawne Kimber, Dean of the College
|
|
I hope we have all found time to catch our collective breath as we race toward the July 4th holiday. After a challenging academic year, we find ourselves in the exciting position of welcoming Dean Chawne Kimber to W&L. Dean Kimber brings great expertise and a wealth of experience to her leadership of the College, and I could not be more proud of the faculty and staff waiting to greet her. |
It has been an honor to serve as your Dean. I look forward to continuing our work together as I move from Simpson House to Washington Hall. A different location and different portfolio do not change the mission. Good things lie ahead. |

Lynny Chin, Associate Professor of Sociology |
The energy Lynny brings to her teaching, scholarship, and many contributions to the W&L community is incredible. This Spring, her innovative course, "Belonging in College," successfully partnered with the Center for International Education to survey how international students compare to non-international students regarding feelings of belonging on campus. Lynny is also working on two research projects: a study examining the consequences of "fit" for non-white students and a paper exploring "status-coordination schema." There is never a dull moment for the students, faculty, and staff who partner with Lynny in her work! |
