Mid-April 2025

Spring Spotlight 2025
What was previously known as the Spring Term Festival is evolving this year to be more inclusive of the range of learning experiences taking place during Spring Term.
The in-person event on Friday, May 23, 2025, will include discussions, presentations, and poster sessions. Please note that the deadline to submit poster printing requests is Sunday, May 18, 2025. The Library will only be able to print a maximum of eight posters per class. Given the compressed Spring Term schedule, we encourage students to collaborate in groups to create and present their posters. If students must create individual posters, we can project them digitally. For guidance on visual communication and poster design, the Library's Research Services team has developed a comprehensive online guide on Visual Research Communication for students.
We will also launch a Spring Spotlight website that will showcase student work throughout the year. These options are intended to accommodate a range of assignments relevant to your courses. Already assigning an essay, portfolio, or podcast? Students can submit these for publication on the Spring Spotlight site. Prefer digital posters instead of physical ones? The site can host and project them during in-person events held throughout the year.
The Spring Spotlight aims for authentic insight into student learning as it organically occurs in your courses. That said, if you are interested in some ideas for assignments that can be showcased, we're happy to share examples. Check out our Padlet here!
