| The energy is palpable on Move-in Day as it marks a new chapter in so many lives – for both first-year undergraduates and their families. As an alum, it always makes me excited as I witness W&L inspiring the next generation, just as it did for me. This year was particularly special as my wife, Lauren '02, and I moved our son into Gaines – the same residence hall where Lauren spent her sophomore year. As we set up his room, I kept telling him how the best four years are in front of him. |
| And while I may have some bias in my statement, the recent Princeton Review and LinkedIn rankings back up my claim. The Princeton Review's Best 392 Colleges rankings named W&L #1 for Great Financial Aid, #2 in Best Career Services and #3 for Top 20 Best Alumni Networks (private schools) and Best Schools for Internships (private schools). Meanwhile, in its "Top Colleges 2026: The 50 Best Colleges for Long-Term Career Success in the U.S.," LinkedIn rated W&L #1 for Strongest Alumni Network and #2 for Top 10 Liberal Arts Colleges for Long-Term Career Success. And our university's financial aid strength only grew since these rankings were compiled, thanks to the generosity of generations of alumni and donors who contributed to the W&L Promise, which, starting in 2027, will provide free tuition to families with a household income of less than $200,000. |
