| This year Washington and Lee welcomed 485 students from 37 states as well as Puerto Rico and 19 foreign countries, including 50 first-generation students, 47 children of alumni, 30 QuestBridge finalists, 41 Johnson Scholars and 158 recruited athletes. They came for the Speaking Tradition, the Honor System, the top-notch academics and because, they said over and over, "it just felt like home." |

The nomination period ends Oct. 15, 2021. |
