October news and events for W&L alumni

Fall has officially arrived at Washington and Lee University!
October 2023

A Note From Campus
We are halfway through the fall semester and students took advantage of many opportunities over Reading Days (including staying on campus to study!). Fifty students embarked on a career trip to Washington, D.C., with the Office of Career and Professional Development. They chose one of three trips: accounting, economics and social impact, and real estate. W&L also hosted our fifth Real Estate Forum with record attendance. It was great to be back, providing value-added programming for our alumni, parents and friends.
Young Alumni Weekend is two weeks away and we are excited to welcome back all alumni from the classes of 2013 to 2023. I look forward to bestowing the Distinguished Young Alumni Award upon three alumni who were some of the first students I got to know once I returned to W&L 12 years ago.
The university recently announced the appointment of our next rector and three new trustees. Alumni leadership and service continue to be important to our alma mater. Read on for more about these alumni leaders, W&L's latest sustainability efforts, and other alumni news and programming.
