W&L Professor Publishes Journal Article in Studies in American Humor
Diego Millan’s recent article analyzes the centrality of jokes in the Chester Himes book “If He Hollers Let Him Go.”
W&L Administrator Inducted to Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Hall of Fame
Michael F. Walsh Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn was enshrined in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) Hall of Fame during a ceremony held on Nov. 17.
W&L’s Hasbrouck Publishes Article in the Oklahoma Law Review
Professor Brandon Hasbrouck published an article titled “Movement Constitutionalism” in the Oklahoma Law Review.

Review Your Home and Work Addresses
It's that time again! Each fall the Office of Human Resources asks that employees review their personal information to be sure everything is correct.  To review and update your information, please log into Workday (myapps.wlu.edu) and follow the instructions below:
• Click on the personal information application (hamburger icon at the top left)
• Under change, click on contact information
• Review your home and work contact information
• If changes are required, click on the edit button (near the top) and select home or work contact information, whichever is applicable
• Click on the pencil in the appropriate box to make the necessary change(s)
• Click on the checkmark once you have made your change(s)
• Click Submit
Remember to update the address for your dependents and beneficiaries as well. From the Workday home page, click on the benefits application and select the buttons (beneficiaries and/or dependents) to update the address.
If you changed your work contact information, please also follow the below steps below to ensure that your work space also gets changed so that the online directory will be correct going forward.
• Click on your profile picture at the top right, then click view profile
• Hover your mouse over position, then click the three dots to the right
• Click position > change my work space
• In the work space field, select your building and office location
• Click submit

Inclement Weather Policy
With winter nearly upon us, the potential for inclement weather increases. Just a reminder that the university's emergency closing policy and associated pay provisions can be found on pages 86-88 of the Employee Handbook located on the HR website.  Please review the information to identify the communication outlets used when there is a closing or delay, instructions for recording time in Workday, and pay provisions for essential employees who are required by their supervisor to work during emergency situations.

Concert Guild Presents: Noah Alden Hardaway, Piano
8 p.m. Lenfest Center/Wilson Concert Hall
Described by the Chestnut Hill Local as “a technically gifted young virtuoso,” Hardaway will perform a varied program featuring “Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues” by Frederic Rzewski, among other pieces. Tickets are not required.

Winter Wonderland Family Dinner
4:30-8 p.m. The Marketplace
Gear up for the holiday season with a Winter Wonderland Family Dinner at The Marketplace on Tuesday, Dec. 6 from 4:30-8 p.m. The menu will include a macaroni and cheese bar, mini corn dogs, french fries and more!

Winter Wonderland Celebration
6-9 p.m. Lee House and Evans Hall
Starting at 6 p.m. the W&L a capella group JubiLee will lead holiday carols from the Lee House front porch. Following the singing, everyone is invited to walk across the street to Evans Hall and enjoy the Winter Wonderland dessert extravaganza. The room will be filled with stations of fantastic holiday treats to include Milk & Cookies, Hot Chocolate, Cupcake, Cookie and Root Beer Float stations. A healthy station, warm chocolate w/ peppermint ice cream station and a mulled cider station.

DeLaney Center From Screen to Square Film Screening: Hidden Figures
5:30-8:30 p.m. Stackhouse Theater
The DeLaney Center presents ”Hidden Figures“ showing from 5:30-7:30 p.m, followed by a panel discussion featuring James Harris (NASA Retiree), Wyllona Harris (Math Educator & NTA Member) and W&L Dean Chawne Kimber. Admission is free, and pizza and snacks will be served.
