Per IRS rules, employees enrolled in pre-tax benefit plans may only enroll, waive or make changes to their benefits once per year (during open enrollment each spring). However, you may make changes if you experience a "Qualifying Life Event" such as marriage, birth/adoption of a child, divorce, etc. For a complete list of qualifying life events, refer to the 2023-24 Benefits Guidebook. |
• You have only 31 days following a qualifying life event to make the change in Workday.
• The requested change must correspond to the event that occurred.
• In most cases, the change will be effective the first of the month following your request in Workday.
• Proof of the event will be required (marriage certificate, notification of birth, etc.). |
Please contact Kim Austin in Human Resources with any questions. |
