University Memorial Acknowledgments |
|
On behalf of the University, the Office of Human Resources recognizes the passing of employees, retirees and their immediate family members by sending a peace lily or making a memorial contribution. Please notify Human Resources (HumanResources@wlu.edu) with a copy of the obituary as soon as possible when you learn of a death. Immediate family includes spouse/domestic partner, parents/stepparents, siblings, children/stepchildren, grandparents, grandchildren, brothers/sisters-in-law, mothers/fathers-in-law and sons/daughters-in-law. Additionally, Human Resources will send a peace lily or memorial for the passing of retirees and the spouses of living retirees. Break a sweat with hip hop dance. The class is open to all, regardless of your dance experience. Music selections will include hip hop, R&B, and rap. In addition to cardio and dance moves, there will be jumping, squatting and lunging. Participants should wear exercise clothes and supportive shoes. Also, don't forget to bring water! |

Lui Blomberg ’25 will perform his senior piano recital featuring works of solo piano repertoire, including Frédéric Chopin’s “Prelude No. 15, Op. 28” and John Field’s “Nocturne in D minor.” The recital will also feature Blomberg’s own compositions performed by an ensemble of string and wind players. The Department of Theater, Dance and Film Studies at Washington and Lee University presents “Till Soon, Anne,” a reading and discussion with playwright Christine Toy Johnson. The evening will feature excerpts from Johnson’s 2018 musical “Till Soon, Anne,” which is about a young woman who consciously ends her journey with terminal brain cancer and invites her closest friends and family to a perfect last weekend, determined to celebrate the life she’s been given and the art of letting go.
