A Message From President Dudley
W&L President Will Dudley sitting at his desk.Welcome to the final weeks of the academic year. As the law school prepares for Commencement next week and undergraduate students and faculty head into Spring Term, we have much to celebrate on campus. We have broken records in admissions and expanded opportunities for students to take part in internships and externships, summer research, and study abroad. Our students continue to win competitive fellowships, stage outstanding performances, and shine on the court and in the field. Our graduates are finding meaningful employment after graduation, and alumni are returning for reunions at pre-pandemic rates. All of this is a testament to your hard work and dedication.
The 2023-24 edition of the President's Report, titled "More than a Number," will arrive in alumni and parent mailboxes this week. The report focuses on what draws students to W&L, what contributes to their satisfaction with their experience, and the outstanding outcomes they enjoy after graduation. It is full of facts and figures, but more importantly, it aims to capture the stories of the people behind the numbers who make Washington and Lee so distinctive.
The report is available online, and printed versions are available for those who would like one. I hope as the year draws to a close, you will take a moment to read it and reflect with pride on the excellent work you and your colleagues across the university are doing in service of our mission. I am grateful to each of you for your contributions to our collective success, and I look forward to celebrating with you in the coming weeks.
