Undergraduate Commencement - May 26, 2022 |
|
Graduation for the Class of 2022 is just weeks away! The university's 235th undergraduate Commencement is scheduled for Thursday, May 26, 2022, at 10 a.m. on the Front Lawn of the main campus. The Baccalaureate Service is scheduled for Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at 10 a.m., also on the Front Lawn of the main campus, between the Colonnade and University Chapel. Commencement ceremonies will be broadcast live on the Web for those unable to attend. Learn more about Commencement here. |

Washington and Lee Athletics |
|
Washington and Lee Michael F. Walsh Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn recently announced that a record 372 student-athletes have received the Scholar-Athlete Award after compiling a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.50 during the Fall Term. All 24 teams produced a cumulative team GPA of 3.36 or better. |
Here are some highlights from the Generals' spring sports teams: |
- Women's Golf - The Blue and White won their fourth straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship.
- Baseball - W&L completed its conference season by defeating Bridgewater, improving to 18-14 overall and 12-8 in the ODAC.
- Men's Lacrosse - 20th-ranked Generals (11-5) won their seventh straight contest, registering a 19-4 road victory at Shenandoah.
- Women's Lacrosse - Fifth-ranked W&L (13-2) posted a 10-5 victory over Denison, the team's 11th win a row.
- Women's Tennis - 18th-ranked Blue and White defeated Lynchburg, improving to 10-6 overall and 7-0 in the ODAC with the victory.
- Men's Tennis - Generals (11-8) closed the regular-season with their ninth straight win, defeating Franklin & Marshall.

Hess, a 1997 graduate of W&L, focuses her research and teaching on the intersection of ethics and accounting, exploring topics such as fraud risk management, ethical leadership, whistle-blowing and sustainability accounting. |
