The big day is fast-approaching: Washington and Lee's 237th undergraduate commencement will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 30, on the Front Lawn. Graduates of the College and Williams School will receive their diplomas as they walk across the stage, marking an end to their transformative years at W&L and the beginning of their exciting next chapters. |
As you make final plans to celebrate the success of your student, make sure to check our commencement info webpage that answers everything from what do if it rains (fingers crossed!) to where to park the day of the event. |

- 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, May 27: Cap and gown pickup at Elrod Commons |
- 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 27: Senior class photo taken at Liberty Hall Ruins |
- 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 29: Baccalaureate Service |
- 10 a.m. Thursday, May 30: Undergraduate Commencement |
Note: All students can drop off their formal wear for graduation to be dry cleaned at the University Cleaners located at 534 E. Nelson St. If your graduate is enrolled in the laundry service program, they can place their formal wear in the provided dry cleaning bag when they drop off their clothing for their weekly cleaning service. Washington and Lee Athletics |
|
- The W&L riding team had a strong postseason that culminated in five riders qualifying for IHSA Zone 4 Championships and junior Allison Hines '25 qualifying for nationals, which will be held in May. Senior Clare O'Brien was named IHSA Zone 4 Region 2's Most Outstanding Senior and received the region's sportsmanship award. At the ODAC Championships, the American history major was also voted the Virginia Farm Bureau Scholar Athlete of the Year by the league's sports information personnel and took home All-ODAC honors after finishing third in point calculations.
The women's golf team won the ODAC Championships for the sixth straight year. Men's golf and men's and women's outdoor track and field teams are entering their respective championship season and will compete for a spot on the national stage in the next 10 days at their ODAC championship events.
- The men's and women's tennis and lacrosse teams remain undefeated in conference play and have all secured the top seed for their respective tournaments heading into the postseason in May.
- The Generals baseball team celebrated the program's eight seniors with a doubleheader sweep on April 20, and Coach Ted White earned his 100th career win on the same day.

Italian Biking Adventure: Dolomites to Venice

Lifelong Learning and the Outing Club join forces for the first time, offering a bike tour through some of the most beautiful countryside in Northern Italy. Designed for members of the W&L family who want to combine their love of physical activity with their quest to travel and learn, the 300-kilometer journey will begin near the Austrian border in the northeastern Dolomites through the Höhlensteintal Valley, below the spectacular Drei Zinnen to the Olympic city of Cortina d‘Ampezzo. |
