Family Connection: February 2026

In honor of sophomore major declaration day, we asked W&L students to share their major and why they chose it. Click the image to watch the full video.
Scene on Campus
Every week during the academic year, university photographers Shelby Hamelman and Kevin Remington capture the scene on campus through their lenses. In the most recent edition: The campus continues to experience snowfall, women's basketball, men's basketball and wrestling compete at home and students study for midterms and participate in the Black Ball in Evans Hall.

A Note from Campus
Dear W&L parents and family members,
We have finally made it through the dreadful cold spell and never-ending ice (we hope!). Students are navigating midterms as we hit this sixth week of classes; sophomores have officially declared their initial major(s); and Washington Break is about to arrive (Feb. 23-27). We hope students can take the time to rest and recharge before coming back and finishing their Winter Term strong! If you are a senior parent/family member, you may find it helpful to review our commencement website. Moreover, for all of our parents/family members, we believe it is beneficial to stay in the know regarding housing and residence life. Please be sure to give our website a review. As always, if you have questions or concerns, you can reach me by emailing families@wlu.edu. Here is to wishing for warmer weather to come and stay!
Kindly,
Leah Beard
Assistant Dean of Student Leadership
