W&L To Continue Under Current Name, Expand DEI Initiatives, Change Buildings and Symbols |
|
On June 4, the Board of Trustees announced that W&L will continue under its current name, expand diversity and inclusion initiatives and make changes to campus buildings, practices and governance. Shortly thereafter, President Dudley shared his thoughts on the board's decisions and W&L's path forward. W&L also created a frequently asked questions webpage with more detailed information on how the board made its decisions, as well as an online form through which community members can provide them with direct feedback. Families can find all this information at the following links: |

Reminder: Fall Term COVID-19 Vaccination Guidance |
|
To help protect the health of the campus community and provide a robust experience on campus this fall, the university will require all students, faculty and staff to be fully vaccinated by Aug. 8, 2021. The expectation is that requiring vaccinations will allow everyone to return to campus without distancing and masking, with all in-person instruction in classrooms at normal occupancy, and with other activities such as dining, performing arts, clubs and organizations returning to more normal in-person operations. |
Returning students have been asked to email a photo or scan of their completed vaccination card to studenthealth@wlu.edu by July 31. To be fully vaccinated by Aug. 8, individuals need to receive the first dose in a 2-dose series (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna) around June 27 and the second dose by July 25, or receive a single-dose vaccine (Johnson & Johnson/Janssen) by July 25. Additional vaccination information is available on the university's COVID-19 Resources website. |

Thank you to everyone who attended one or many of Alumni Engagement's virtual events this past school year. Although we missed seeing you in person, gathering via Zoom was a pretty great substitute. We will take a hiatus this summer, but can't wait to see you all in-person or virtually soon. |
