Washington and Lee Athletics
  • Women's basketballThe W&L men's and women's basketball teams appeared in the ODAC Championships with the women claiming the second title in a row. The women's basketball team broke a host of program records and advanced all the way to the NCAA Elite Eight before their run came to an end.
  • At the ODAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, W&L claimed a pair of event championship ribbons, Evan Langhammer '26 (pole vault) and Leyti Ndiaye '26 (high jump), to help the team finish in second. The women's track and field team finished third with five podium finishes.
  • The wrestling team claimed fifth in the regional tournament, and sophomore Evan Lindner '26 qualified for the DIII Wrestling National Championships in the 149-pound weight class.
  • Nine Generals — Sophia Rollo '24, Brynn Martinson '24, Dalton Jobe '26, Matt Fritz '25, Charles Byars '26, Baxter Smelzer '25, Leighton Chapman '27, Luke Nagel '25 and Thomas Denton '26 — qualified for the NCAA DIII Swimming Championships March 20-23. As individuals, Fritz and Jobe, along with both of the men's 400 and 800 freestyle relay teams, earned All-America status with their top-16 finishes on the national stage.
