Family Connection: March 2026

The Office of Career and Professional Development took W&L students on career trips in the fields of business, healthcare, law and the social sciences to New York City over Washington Break, during which they toured different companies and met with New York-based alumni.
Scene on Campus
Every week during the academic year, university photographers Shelby Hamelman and Kevin Remington capture the scene on campus through their lenses. In the most recent edition: Washington and Lee hosts opening weekend of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament; the library celebrates 250 years; and students get involved in Philanthropy Education Week and travel on Career and Professional Development trips for Washington Break.

Finals Week
Winter Term Finals begin on April 11, and your student may share feeling stressed and/or anxious as they enter this time (especially with many exciting campus events also occurring in the next few weeks!). You might encourage that they visit the Harte Center and/or the Writing Center, visit professors during office hours and work with a peer tutor in advance of finals week. Check out additional learning resources for students, including a special section for parents.
Important Housing Information
Housing will remain open over the spring break. If students are staying on campus, they should be aware that university services will be limited. Students who travel and are returning for Spring Term may leave their belongings in their room. Students who are not returning must remove all personal belongings, follow the "Closing Checklist" and return the room key to a drop-off location by no later than Sunday, April 19, to avoid cleaning or unreturned key fees.
