W&L’s Brindle and Pfaff Receive Harris Family Awards from the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges
Ryan Brindle was presented the Rising Star Award, and Dave Pfaff received the Excellence in Instructional Technology Award.

Washington and Lee Presents ‘W&L Dancers Create…’
The W&L Repertory Dance Company’s performances will run Nov. 30 through Dec. 2.
W&L Presents Holiday Pops Concert 2023
Tickets to the Dec. 4-5 performances can be obtained with a non-perishable food donation to benefit Campus Kitchen at W&L. The event will also be available to watch online at livestream.com/wlu.
W&L Hosts Annual Holiday Candlelight Service
The Dec. 7 lessons and carols program in the University Chapel is free and open to the public. The event will also be available to watch online at livestream.com/wlu.
 
Campus Extended Stay Requests Due Dec. 4
Winter break extended stays may be approved case-by-case for extenuating circumstances. Students must complete an extended stay request via eRezLife. The extended stay request is due by Dec. 4, and submissions received after the deadline will not be considered. Approved requests will have their student accounts charged a $50/night fee.
Please note that university services are extremely limited during winter break. Contact departments/offices directly for hours and services offered during the winter break period. Please visit the Office of Residence Life webpage for more details.
 
Washington and Lee Athletics
Washington and Lee University is a proud member of NCAA Division III and the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. With more than 500 student-athletes in 24 varsity sports, the Generals have celebrated over 265 conference championships in school history. This fall, W&L earned its 19th ODAC volleyball championship title, and five programs competed in NCAA postseason events: men's cross country, women's cross country, men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball. The football team hosts Lycoming College in the inaugural Cape Charles Bowl on Saturday, Nov. 18, and the winter sports are off to a strong start. 2024 Institute for Honor Symposium
The 2024 IFH symposium will explore a range of ethical considerations, from pharmaceutical company culpability to physician prescribing practices. The symposium will feature expert panel discussions and a keynote address from journalist Beth Macy.
